Day 298: Hm, Thursday
Jan. 7th, 2021 11:59 pmToday I walked to the post office to get two more holiday cards into the mail - it's just a 40-minute walk, round trip, but there are some elevation changes (it's 535' above sea level here, 600' at the top of the hill, and 450' at the street by the post office).
When I got back, I found that the editor of that journal where I've been working for months to get a manuscript published is still being, well, difficult. One reviewer is quite happy with the article; the other still wants it to be more on her own topic than on mine; and the editor is being even more extreme than the second reviewer. I wrote to G. for advice.
In the early evening, I did some exercises with J's online sword class at the beginning, then returned to my house where it was soon time for our conductor's watch party. He'd been off for two weeks, so it was great to have that routine resume, and we'll be learning a lot more about a particular famous female composer in the next five months, so that was interesting.
After that, DG arrived to hang out with J, and we spent the first two hours of his visit talking mostly about politics (of course, good grief) and my manuscript situation. I went home then, and they spent a couple of hours doing Magic stuff, as it wasn't too cold in the garage tonight.
