Day 292: Happy New Year!

We celebrated! Our friends DG and AA came over for a gathering in our open-air garage; it was almost 50 degrees F so not too bad. They brought us dinner from our neighborhood Mexican restaurant, where we used to eat with them often before they left for their year in Denver. J. and I hadn't had their food since Valentine's Day, so it was most welcome. My favorite, the moljacete, isn't on the menu anymore, but they made it for me anyway. It was great. And we had gifts for them - a plush octopus for AA and a fantasy novel for DG - and they were delighted. We also watched two more episodes of By the Grace of the Gods, which AA now loves, but which they don't have subscription access to. Perhaps they'll watch the whole series with us that way? Only nine more episodes to go!
