Today I finally sent in the paperwork to get my roof replaced, which Allstate wants me to have done before they'll renew my policy. It's really rather pretty with the moss up there, and ironically the leak is on the side without the moss. I'm sure it will be good to have a new roof, though, as the house is 26 years old.
The main tricky parts will be moving my large potted plants out of the driveway on the day they need to toss down all the old shingles, and covering up everything in the house that I don't want stuff to fall on, and figuring out how to get enough sleep on the days they're up there, considering that part of my normal sleep schedule is during conventional working hours.
