A bit wilted, though today's birthday party was small (three guests: my mom, sister, and brother-in-law) and it was over by 3 p.m., after which I just read recreationally outside for a couple of hours. Also, D. and I have a new evening treat -- we're reading a somewhat abridged Wind in the Willows, with beautiful illustrations, pen and ink drawings of pastoral England and our new friends Mole and Rat, Badger and Toad.
fractal9091 has made it to Greensboro but won't have real Internet access 'til later in the week, when the roommate with the wireless router arrives. So if you need him, call him. His classes start tomorrow. I would find it strange to start the school year in the middle of summer -- "back to school" means autumn leaves and cooler weather, to me.
