Cleaning

We made progress on the hot tub cleaning today; it was our main achievement (besides those related to videogames, that is). I discarded the newt and worked on cleaning surfaces; J bought a new small hose and rinsed things down to dilute the contaminated water further. We drained it as far as it would go on its own, then I sort of climbed in and used a dustpan to splash the remaining water toward the drains, then I tossed in a very large towel to soak up what it could. Tomorrow I’ll wash the towel and see if the hot tub is ready for a thorough wiping or if I need to repeat with the towel.

We also ordered a new filter, and as part of doing so, we learned that the hot tub was installed when the house was built, in 1994. It’s plausible that it’s only ever had this one filter, so it’s high time for a new one.

I’m glad I had slightly more energy today!

A hot tub sounds lovely for winter!

We only use it maybe once or twice a year anymore, but it's nice when we do - unless it's warm outside.
