Day 1104: Busy Wednesday

I expected to wake up tired today, but the massive-paper-adrenaline was still going strong. So I started writing a blog post, then went to the woods to look for wildflowers (to be part of the blog post). While I was there, my phone started making little Facebook message beeps, and it was DG and AA impulsively inviting us to have an early dinner with them at the Mexican restaurant!

So I finished up and came home, and off we went. Oh, an amusing thing was that when I was driving to the school, I passed D&S walking along the sidewalk, and when I emerged from the woods, they were also at the school, hanging out and chatting.

Anyway, we went to dinner. I hadn't been to the restaurant since before the pandemic, but as it was only 5:15 pm it wasn't at all crowded and I didn't really think about germs. We had good food and a great conversation!

Then we came home and I wrote my blog post and dug out some old wildflower photos from my old directories. I hadn't posted since November, ha.

Day 1077: An adventure, of sorts

Although J put the cats outside this morning, it was rainy and they probably spent the day in a sheltered spot rather than using up their energy, because when we brought them in around 6 pm they were very, very active. And then J went off to sword class, and I went back to my own house.

You know how we did that big inventory of everything the cats could possibly break in J’s house? Somehow we managed not to include the floor lamp near the front door, which I found blocking the door from opening easily when I went over there around 10 pm, as J was driving home from sword class.

There were LOTS of shards of glass all over the tiles and the carpet, with some of them a surprising distance away. The cats didn’t seem to have collected any in their paws, and we also managed to avoid injury while cleaning up the mess. We swept, then vacuumed, then wiped the whole floor (especially the edges and corners) with wet paper towels. I sure hope we got it all!
