Today's fun
Aug. 3rd, 2019 11:53 pmI got a bunch of work done today and rewarded myself by going to the opening night of the free Shakespeare in the Park. This year they're doing an adaptation of "Pericles, Prince of Tyre." Our next-door neighbor is in the play again, with a great many more lines than she'd had last year; she played Pericles' daughter Marina (along with many other, smaller parts; they did the whole play with only 7 actors altogether).
It's not a great play, and they aren't a professional company, but there were amusing bits and reasonably dramatic bits, and J. and I had a nice picnic without too much hassle from yellowjackets. During the intermission we strolled over to the trees surrounding the creek, and some passing young fellow told us that if we wanted to "smoke" there were various holes in the tree cover further on. I couldn't keep from laughing once he'd gone past. Nice that he was helpful, I guess?
