I had fun making today into an extra-full day. I visited both libraries (briefly; I now have the latest Flavia Albia mystery!), stopped by my office to print a bunch of stuff, and had dinner with J. downtown. He then went off to the monthly "fight night" at the sword academy, while I decided to do the First Friday Art Walk, because the special features were the annual Mayor's Art Show and the Salon des Refusés - the pieces that didn't make it into the Mayor's show.
I was picturing with an "art walk" that there would be maybe 30-40 folks walking from one location to the next in a fairly orderly fashion. Nope. There were vast crowds, several hundred?, and alcohol was being served almost everywhere, so you had to be careful not to jostle too much or drinks would spill. I did make it all the way to the back of both galleries, being grateful that I don't have the crowd anxiety that my ex had. I saw five people I knew and semi-said hi to two of them.
After that I walked to the sword academy and watched J. spar for a while, then I went home and read a bunch of the stuff I'd collected. Fun!
We have finished the final dose of Ajani's medicine. What a lovely thing that he was still happy to see me when I got up today - you'd think after having me squirt nasty medicine into his mouth 20 times, he'd have developed some wariness, but nope. He still loves me.
