A long Mother’s Day
May. 8th, 2016 11:11 pmD. finally got up before 2 p.m., and he gave me an Amazon gift card (timely, as I was about to order stuff), and a pencil sketch he’d made of our two kitties curled up asleep together. Then J. drove us to the raptor center, which was fun for me and less so for D, who had developed a bit of a bird phobia after months of D&D at a house where they liked to let the parakeet fly about the room and land on people. Later we had the usual Sunday spaghetti for dinner and watched The Adventures of Milo and Otis, which neither of them had seen, and because neither of them had seen it. J. then fell asleep on the couch with Ajani in his arms, although he woke up and watched a bit of Doc Martin with me, which he also hadn’t seen before, and then his mom called and they had quite a long conversation about his trip to Spain. Then he went home and I went on a walk, making a point to glimpse the setting moon whenever I could, because it was pretty today. People should appreciate our moon more. Now I’m rereading the first of the Imager books. Meanwhile, D. has been immersed in homework and chores since dinner; I doubt he’ll be asleep before midnight.
