Plus and minus
Sep. 5th, 2013 10:09 pmPlus: We had a thunderstorm this afternoon that lasted more than two hours. Lots of rumbling.
Minus: Yesterday I went to some effort to get watermelon for our party – the miniature one I’d bought was overly ripe, so I went back to the store and bought another ($4.99), but then it tasted odd. D. gave up quickly, but I made myself eat both of my slices. And I would bet that the odd little rash I now have on my lower face came from the watermelon, and it might also account for my scratchy throat. Oh well.
School doesn’t actually start until next Thursday, but D’s a WEBleader, which means he has to go in tomorrow and Monday at 8:30 a.m. for training on how to help the incoming sixth graders feel more at home, and then attend all day Wednesday too. He is not exactly enthusiastic.
