Today we experienced record-shattering warmth, 88̊ maybe, which was bizarre but not uncomfortable. J. and I went to Lowe’s to buy a new dishwasher, and after dinner I went on a walk with Chong. There were lots of flowers to talk about... in Korea, lawn daisies are called “egg-fry.”
Afterwards, I mowed a bit of a maze into the remaining tall grass in the backyard. That is, it would have been a proper maze if he were a toddler. As it was, he crawled through it the first time to get the full “maze” experience, then showed me he could run from one end to the other in less than five seconds. This evolved into competitive dashes through the maze, then competitive hoppings through it, then timed solo hoppings through it, and finally hopping through it after spinning until he was so dizzy he could barely stand. I was then convinced to leave the maze in place for another day. Who knows, maybe tomorrow it will see croquet.
