Yet more hectic-osity
Sep. 6th, 2012 10:42 pmFirst day of school for D, which was fine from that perspective (though it did mean mountains of forms to sign), but I am also a library volunteer, and they’re down to half-time staffing, so I went in for more than two hours to help get it ready to open to the students. I learned how to put magazines into the kind of binders that involve a metal rod – a skill I may never need again, but who knows? One type of binder used a tiny screwdriver, and the other used a tiny key. I was reunited with my friend C. and got to chat with her while we worked.
Also there was more drama about getting my mom’s house ready to sell. We had one guy remove some sections of ceiling to expose the rotting rafters, and we then had two varying opinions on how much work would be needed to remediate this. Way too many details to assimilate.
And... I bought a guitar. It’s very pretty! It also has excellent ratings online.
You may notice that I got zero work done. I’ll have to take some vacation for the week, which is fine since I’ve been maxed out on vacation hours accrued for like a year now.
Tomorrow,
fractal9091 is defending his dissertation. Please wish him luck!
