Earth Day Weekend 2008

Confession: I've barely been outside, even though it's the Sunday nearest to Earth Day (that is, the day when I usually celebrate it). It's sunny at the moment, but an hour ago we had hail, which Lillian found most unsettling. I did take a picture of today's new snow on the back deck, though:


Also, I've made progress on the yellowjackets essay. Gone are all the obscure cultural references, which I didn't want in there anyway. Gone are most of the natural history facts. Next I'll focus on the parts that need to be rewritten more nicely, and then I can turn to the new material I want to add. It feels a bit more manageable now.
