Last night I read The Pendragon Legend by Antal Szerb, a sort of satire of gothic novels. musanon, L. might like it; it's got alchemists. And it's funny. I'm told Szerb was a fan of Wodehouse.

"You speak as though you have no ideals."

"You are right. I am neo-frivolous."

"How does that differ from old-fashioned frivolousness?"

"Mostly in the syllable 'neo' preceding it. It's more thrilling that way."

Almost time for Ducks basketball. R. is planning to go to a concert tonight: Of Montreal. It starts at 9 p.m., which may pose a challenge!

Greens for lunch

I enhanced my pasta sauce at lunch by adding a couple of collard leaves. It tasted great - the flavors were quite compatible.
