Tree-wrestling
Dec. 4th, 2005 09:15 pmThis year we put the tree in a new location, next to the "mylar closet," which looks like a great place. It won't block foot-traffic, and it looks so pretty there. Not having to relocate the lego castles from the round wall, where the tree normally goes, is another plus. I wrestled the tree out of the garage, and R. carried it in. I brought in the ornaments, then spent ages looking for the missing leg of the tree stand, only to find it in the ornament box. It was strange to decorate the tree without B., the first year without him, but last year he'd indoctrinated D. in the special details, such as introducing him to "Mister Decapitato," the headless elf. We have dozens and dozens of personalized ornaments, most of them done in fine cross-stitch by R's mom, and the tree has beautiful tiny microfilament lights on the ends of the "needles."
I am so hoarse, so cough-prone, so tired. I am looking forward to getting better. When will that be?
