Apparently the only BCS game Oregon would have been allowed to play in this year was the national championship. They won every game except to #1 USC and finished #5, but they only get to play in the Holiday Bowl. The Fiesta Bowl picked Ohio State and Notre Dame, which both lost two games this year. Boycott the Fiesta Bowl.

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last Tuesday I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points). In November I ruled Iran as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). In September I broke jmermin's X-Box (-12 points). Last month I bought porn for kudzita (10 points). In January I gave pamperedreality a Dutch Oven (-10 points). Overall, I've been naughty (-788 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking! Sincerely, eve_prime

Autumn sunlight, winter dinner

I went to campus to get a few last references for my term paper. The late-autumn sun is low in the sky, even at mid-day, and the slanted golden light on the tall douglas-firs in the pioneer cemetery reminded me of all the time I used to spend alone in Oakland's redwood forests in the early morning. Behind the library I saw my neighbor KB, and we chatted for about 20 minutes.

I made a real dinner today, a winter dinner: roasted chicken with leeks, potato, mushrooms, and thyme. It smelled wonderful nearly the whole time it was in the oven, even with my head all stuffy.
