Mardi Gras beads

I just think it's the cutest thing that little boys will unselfconsciously wear these strings of pretty beads. Nobody did that when I was a kid. B. had a favorite turquoise strand for years, and D. acquires new ones from time to time. He was often wearing a pretty green strand a few weeks ago, and yesterday he came home with two in an appealing color between pink and purple. When I admired them, he made a gift of them to me, so I wore them today, with a blue blouse. Then in the evening he thought I'd look even nicer with the green too, and that is how I come to be wearing three strands of Mardi Gras beads - my son decorated me, like a Christmas tree.
