eve_primeI thought today would be a nice, calm day, and I'd get a lot of work done. Instead, I had to deal with that one set of neighbors being hostile again, and I've felt tense ever since. These are the ones who hated our cottonwood tree and weed-eated one of our perennial beds; now they've decided that some of our land is theirs, and they have a plan to do things to it. I've been weeding this particular flowerbed lately so as to carry out my own poppy plans, not knowing of their designs on it. I wish they would just leave us alone.
The main problem is that it's nice to work in the yard when I can think about how it's going to look, or let my mind wander, but it's pretty dreadful to work in the yard when all I can think about is being pressured by overbearing neighbors. That's more or less why R. stopped working on our yard, back during the cottonwood conflict. It contaminates the pleasure of gardening.
Anyhow. Watching the recent Journey to the Center of the Earth again was the most relaxing part of the day, and Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud is a pretty neat book.
