And so we begin anew

Yesterday I discovered that I'm much more sick than I thought, but I've had this before and should be over it within a week or so. Today I mostly slept, but I did watch the inauguration live, and later, much of the parade. Washington, D.C., looks like an attractive city. One of my favorite parts of the coverage was when they showed some of our new president's class pictures from grades 5 and 9, and then his high school senior picture and graduation - especially fun for me since I'm the same age he is.
I don't think I'd ever watched an inauguration before, but this time is different. This time we have a president who could actually be a leader.
I liked the speech. I liked his focus on ideals without being too "idealistic," if that makes sense. And he looked very sharp and cool in that dark coat and red scarf. I kept thinking, "Wow, this man is our president."
