Anniversary!

eve_primeR. and I have now been married for one bazillion and two years. We watched a Doctor Who episode, "Left Turn," and one of our favorite movies, the romantic satire Strictly Ballroom. Dinner was from Chef's Kitchen, the neighborhood PNW-Swiss restaurant. We shared some calamari fritti, R. had Wienerschitzel mit Spätzle in a lemon butter caper sauce, and I had scampi pasta Richelieu, which included Gulf wild prawns, artichokes, mushrooms, and a topping of smoked salmon.
We also exchanged a few gifts, although one of us had, ah, forgotten which day of the week our anniversary would be when deciding how fast to ship things, so the rest will be exchanged on Monday or so. I gave R. two CDs, and he gave me a bouquet of flowers and a red glass globe, which I've hung in the Aoyagi Japanese maple. Also on Monday we'll be festive and have lunch in our neighborhood tavern. (Life would be easier if kids could go to pubs in the U.S. as they can in Europe.)
