Lately I've been absorbed in sorting old piles of papers, something I do every few years, but it's not terribly interesting to describe.
The day's highlights:
The day's highlights:
- The sparkling watercolor Milky Way in the Inuyasha episode I watched this morning. Beautiful!
- Basketball. When the boys came home from D's game today, R. was completely aglow. D. was so intense and did so well! He scored three of the team's 14 baskets (they won, 14-6), he got assists on the first two baskets his team scored, he had steals too, and the guys he was defending never scored. When he scored his first basket ever, R. was so excited that D. is a bit embarrassed about it. I told him not to worry, his dad will soon get used to how good he is.
- Napa cabbage salad. I found my old recipe online, or rather, a variant. Slice napa cabbage and red bell peppers, add cilantro and ground unseasoned roasted peanuts, and toss with a dijon-ginger vinaigrette. Satisfyingly crunchy and full of vitamins and cruciferous goodness.
- Oregon 79, Oregon State 63, followed by a long walk in the rain to the woods near Edgewood School. Me, that is, not the team.
- Stardust. We made an impromptu decision to watch it, and oh, how lovely! I didn't know anything about the story. Very entertaining, beautiful too; funny, exciting, romantic. What more could be wanted? Now I just want to watch it again.
