Quiet Sunday

I missed out on a great many things that I'd thought of doing today -- a combination of being sleepy, not quite over this cold yet, and uninspiringly misty weather. An archaeology film festival event -- a film about the Yemeni island of Socotra and another about early man -- was at noon, then the Asian Kite Festival was 2-6 p.m., and the first annual neighborhood picnic was 4-7.
Yet, I had a fine day overall. In the morning I fixed my failed floppy drive all by myself (a full-scale dust bunny warren), then in the afternoon I napped. After that, I enjoyed a fancy pizza, a few sips of Hawaiian pale ale, and a granny smith apple. Then I took pleasure in the look of the new carpet and D's enjoyment of his kids' powwow music CD while casually reading scenes in the Recluce book with Lerris focusing on his woodworking craft. We concluded the evening by watching a preview of Rick Steves' newly filmed travel show set in Paris. All is well.
