Lessons in Honour: A Pride & Prejudice Christmas Story, by Pamela Aidan. Years ago, I think when I was first encountering Austen fan fiction, I read and enjoyed a trilogy by Aidan telling Pride and Prejudice from Darcy’s perspective. This novella is a story about Darcy at a much earlier time – he’s 13 and has just finished his first term at Eton. He comes home from Christmas to learn that his mother is seriously ill and that being the Darcy heir comes with serious responsibilities. I got this for Christmas and sat down and read it almost immediately. Great fun.
