No snow yet, thankfully

I am doing the Oregon Bach Festival book club again, and this month we're reading a book about Beethoven. Each chapter has a corresponding work for us to listen to and think about. I have extra time for listening to the referenced pieces, too, because J's gone to Portland for a big Magic tournament this weekend. D's qualified to play in the main event, and J and DG will try to qualify tomorrow; if they don't make it there are plenty of fun side events on Saturday and Sunday too.

Meanwhile, focusing on my posture and symmetry while walking is paying off; I've now been on several walks with no return of the sciatica. A win for paying attention!

The book club started off with a very friendly and nice book, originally, but since then they've read a whole lot of very technical things! I only joined for two books last year, and I'll probably only do one or two this year.

Yes for my level, it just looked wayyy too technical. I just love the idea of it though. Enjoy!

Last year I bought a book for it that I thought would be good, but it was way too technical, as you say, and also I thought somewhat self-indulgent - the author seemed to be writing in order to show off rather than to share information. I regret buying that one!

Oh dear, that does sound like a waste of money. It is hard to know sometimes about books.
