Rainy forecast

eve_primeWe are expecting lots and lots of rain. The forecast shows heavy rain for every day for the foreseeable future, which means that DG's friend who is flying from Philadelphia to spend ten days with him is going to get a very wet impression of Eugene. I did manage to get a massive pile of leaves out into the street for this year's leaf collection, which starts on Monday. Lots and lots of raking and sweeping yesterday and today.
Every year when I push the big broom around to tidy up the mess of leaves I've just made in the street, that old Roger Miller lyric pops into my head: "Ah but, two hours of pushin' broom buys an... eight by twelve four-bit room. I'm a... man of means by no means. King of the road!"
