Chicago day 1

Today was the first day of their Magic events in Chicago. DG's friend C was playing in the pro tour and didn't do particularly well. Meanwhile, our three were playing in a qualifier for the next pro tour, which will be in Vegas in June. There were about 460 players, and J finished 100th. D and DG, however, finished in the top 32, which means they get to play in a special thing tomorrow - the top four from that event will qualify for Vegas. Meanwhile, J will get a second chance to qualify. By the way, D's new jacket looks just fine, and he wore a sweatshirt and a t-shirt under it, so I think he was comfortable in the cold.

I'm feeling generally better but was way behind on sleep today, so I mostly just watched things. The Friday movie was Chronicles of Riddick, and I also watched the last hour of Dune Part Two, and a few minutes of Shakespeare in Love. I also found a smaller book to read while I lie on J's couch to spend time with the cats there - no way can I read a Stormlight Archive book on my lap when Azalyn wants to curl up right next to my face, but I can elevate a small paperback.
