Day 823: Lawns
Jun. 19th, 2022 11:57 pmMy house has three lawns. There's one next to the street, one outside my front door (which does not face the street), and a back yard that's bigger than the other two combined. This year the backyard is something of a lost cause - I did mow most of it back in early April but didn't manage it since then, and it's full of very tall grass.
I mowed the front door lawn today. It's usually a simple job but now it's something of a nightmare, because Ambrose is much too interested in the lawnmower, and there are many places I need to mow that have poor visibility - under that low Japanese maple next to the front door, for example. Today J. helped by tracking the whereabouts of all the cats and holding Ambrose as much as Ambrose would let him.
And here's what my street lawn looks like today! Beyond the daisies and campanulas there's mown grass with buttercups in bloom, and beyond the buttercups the lawn is full of cyclamen, which will bloom in the fall.
