Day 741: Book completed
Mar. 28th, 2022 11:48 pmThe Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, by V.E. Schwab. It's our neighborhood book club book for the month, and I devoured it! So, uh oh, another author whose books I need to get caught up on. I did find one on J's shelf - I bought it for him for Christmas, years ago, and he hasn't read it.

She runs away from her wedding (to a widower with small children, whom the village expects she'll marry though she has no interest), and finds herself in the woods at night, and makes a deal with the spirit who comes when she calls. But it's night, so it's a dark spirit, and her freedom comes with a catch. She's effectively immortal now, but no one can remember her once she's out of their sight. Three hundred years later, she's hanging around New York City...
