Day 226: Dr. G
Oct. 27th, 2020 11:54 pmToday I got up early (for me) and right away logged onto Zoom to watch our dear friend DG defend his dissertation. Yay, Dr. DG! He has an enviably relaxed style for public speaking like that, although it sounds like the process makes him more nervous than it does me.
Later, I made the virtual acquaintance of a very interesting researcher who’s an immigrant from the Congo. I also made more progress on the blackberries – nearly to the crawl space! – and managed to burn a pot of rice yet again. Maybe I’ll label the stove, ha. I went on a fine long walk with J as the sun was starting to set, and I watched the second livestream of the Delgani concert. This time instead of focusing on it, I mostly just had it in the background while I worked, though I did attend more closely to my favorite parts. I watched two episodes of the nice new anime series, By the Grace of the Gods with J, and I watched the Poldark episode where he’s acquitted of the charges related to the plundering of the goods from the shipwreck.
