Xīn nián kuài lè!

In other words, Happy Chinese New Year! Today was the first day of the New Year for China, and also happened to be a night with my Chinese language class, so our teacher made us some very fancy green tea, showed us videos of their traditions, and taught us some calligraphy.

Meanwhile, I have managed to kidnap my friend Samantha, who is scheduled for spaying tomorrow, if I can figure out how to get her back into the cat carrier. It will be an adventure. I hope it's not too stressful, for any of us. Fortunately, she is a very quiet cat and is basically just sitting around my guest room waiting to see what transpires.

It took a very long time to get her trust, so I'm not terribly happy about losing it, which presumably I have (or will), but I'll pamper her as long as she's recuperating, and hopefully once she's back outside she'll keep coming here for food...
