So tiring...
Oct. 25th, 2018 11:58 pmToday was profoundly tiring, though at the moment I feel reasonably okay. The combination of "habitually saving cleaning projects until the motivation of guests about to arrive" and "having a string of colds all autumn such that one has very little stamina left for anything" is not a great one.
Anyway. I did manage to shelve the stacks of books that have been accumulating in J's library (his mom has gradually been shipping them from Chapel Hill, one or two boxes at a time), then I came home to collapse and make soup. But the onions - which had been fine for the first 30 minutes on medium-low heat - managed to burn themselves a few minutes later on low-low heat (go figure!). So I got myself an Aegean pizza instead, which was more work than I really wanted at that point. Anyway. We finally got the fancy mosaic-framed mirror hung, and I read the "bitesize biography" of Renée of France that I bought a while back (this being her 508th anniversary of birth), and I was so so so tired, but lying on the couch reading Angela Thirkell's The Brandons was a great help.
