That time of year
Feb. 23rd, 2017 11:40 pmWe had a break in the rain today, and I woke up nauseous from hay fever (ash trees, a bit early this year). J. kindly drove us to D's special clarinet lesson with the accompanist, to rehearse for Saturday's "solo & ensemble" district competition.
Up to that point in the day, I spent all my time monitoring our ridiculous variation in Internet download speeds, from 80+ Mbps around 3 p.m. to less than 1 for a while earlier and then again later. I cut back to the bare minimum in connected devices, each of them doing nothing more strenuous than Firefox (with 0% showing for network processes per the task manager, as
claidheamhmor suggested checking), and I ran the speed test again and again. No good reason within the household for the variance that I can see.
Then I spent the evening watching J. play his new game, which has catchy music and is pretty fun to watch. I hope it resumes raining!
