And we'll have fun, fun, fun

Today was all about play, at least so far. I went to "game day" at the #2 downtown game store because J. said I could get a full-art Magic card, and when I got there, the three other people who were there to play were all our friends. So that was fun. I volunteered for the first-round bye so I could go buy and check out some books, then I played four games. I didn't win any of them but they were so amusing that I spent the whole time laughing.

While on my side-trip to the library I'd discovered a little purse in the middle of the street, and we looked up the owner, who had helpfully put her cell phone number into the university directory. I then called and arranged to go meet her. She's Chinese and had only lived here a few months, so I was glad to be able to help her. She "rewarded" me with a little lemon dessert thing -- I don't know how to describe it except maybe like a multi-layer petit four?

After I got home, J. and I then went to a local coffee shop to get dinner, so we could use the fundraising flyer for the youth orchestras. He liked their quesadillas better than the more authentic one I'd gotten him last night. We saw S. from the youth orchestras there, too; she was helping with a meeting for local women activists.

Then we went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at a small moviehouse downtown. So much fun! J. liked it better than any of the Harry Potter movies.

Now to relax a bit before the anime...
