Nov. 20th, 2016 11:50 pmWe had another neighborhood emergency planning meeting; fewer people showed up this time. Again our neighbor wanted to make us watch a video; again technology failed her. Eventually people made the point that the most important thing we can do is know who our neighbors are and which of them could most need help if we have a major earthquake. I am hoping they won't try to do another meeting until spring.
The woman organizing the meeting asked the community rep whether we were "behind" the other neighborhoods. Um. There are probably several thousand blocks in our city; if each block were actually doing this, we'd be hearing about it. He said he was aware of maybe 20 blocks that had been meeting...
