Weeknight picnic

J. and I like to go out for dinner on Wednesday evenings. Often in the summer it's a picnic, but tonight I wanted to eat in the pretty enclosed back patio at Cornucopia. When we got there, though, quite a few other people had had the same idea, and the hostess thought it would be a 20-minute wait. We considered getting food to go, but it was kind of noisy and crowded inside, and we ended up going to Safeway for sandwich fixings, then driving to Washington Park. We semi-watched a little girls' softball game, the blue team versus the green team. Then we went on a walk to Madison Meadow to see if it had a picnic table (it did not). It was a great neighborhood for a summer evening walk, though, and I really liked our little sandwiches.
