A neighborhood with good summer energy
Jun. 8th, 2016 10:45 pmToday we had a picnic of gouda and sourdough sandwiches in a park just south of the Wayne Morse Ranch, then we went on a walk through the neighborhood there. I love that neighborhood -- so many flowers, and birds, and vegetable gardens, and even some chickens, and every house is different and many are eclectic. I think what I like about it is that it has the same cheerfully haphazard quality that some of Eugene's hippie neighborhoods have, but the houses are well-built and well-maintained and probably relatively expensive. They also have a neighborhood park that would be great for families with small children, and today we discovered a walking/biking trail that was only a few hundred feet long but still fun. At the east end of our route, the Catholic cemetery has a great view of downtown Eugene in the distance.
