Tonight was book club, at T's house this time. I got to meet their four new juvenile hens, and I ate quite a bit of those string bean snacks, what are they called? I guess they were probably the snap peas, not string beans, but basically, a salty bit of vegetable-flavoring with about the same amount of substance as the delicate kind of cheetos.
We had read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, but as usual we barely talked about it. Mostly we talked about fertilizers and eating insects, neither of which was a conversational highlight for me, but we also ended up teaching each other various facts and tips. For instance, if you're introducing a new chicken to an existing flock, do it at night. If you want to water your plants properly, do it for three hours once a week, not daily. And the useful tip I contributed was using a minus sign in a Google search, which let us learn that one member's beloved childhood movie about a village of levitating children was called The People and starred William Shatner. Cool, it's on YouTube.
