Sleepover fail
Apr. 16th, 2016 11:40 pmD’s friend spent the night last night; he’s a nice, easy-going kid, and things went smoothly, except for two things. (1) Apparently he only needs six hours of sleep, because he was up and ready to do things at 8 a.m. and wanted D. to do likewise. D. had been operating under a sleep deficit already and was not happy about this. They’ll have to communicate better next time. (2) Although he doesn’t particularly interact with them one way or the other, the cats are uncomfortable with having this “stranger” in their livingroom at night, and they started with the piercing meowing outside my room after I’d only had four and a half hours of sleep. Eventually I got up and put them into the bathroom, but D. won’t use the bathroom if they’re in there and was too sleepy to think in terms of letting them out of the room and putting them back in when he was done, because after a while the cats were outside my room again, pleading for me to come out and reassure them. D’s clarinet lesson didn’t go well, because his brain was too foggy to do the harmonic minor scales his teacher wanted to hear; then I took him to R’s where he had a four-hour nap. I came home and napped as well. I’ve been sick for several days (again), and there’s much to do before J’s trip.
