Ow, ha

So J. and I were eating at the Mexican restaurant, and he has this drink with shaved ice, and he lets me try it, and I have the straw pointed fairly far back in my mouth, and it tastes good, and I take three sips fairly quickly. Suddenly, the spot in my mouth where my tonsils would be, if I still had them, is way too cold. It's like a brain freeze, but at the back of my mouth. It's very odd and disconcerting to discover a new kind of pain.
