Yet another "concert week"
Mar. 7th, 2016 10:35 pmThis evening, the usual Junior Orchestra rehearsal. Tomorrow evening, the winter concert for D's school band. Thursday, clarinet lesson (normally Saturday afternoon, but his teacher is away doing judging then). Friday, a full-day field trip for the high school band to attend "districts" at Thurston High School; although it's just 10 or so miles away, they won't be back until 5 p.m. or so. Then next Monday, Junior Orchestra dress rehearsal, and Wednesday morning, the Junior Orchestra outreach concert (during final exams at D's school again, like last year, urgh). And then, blessedly, spring break.
D. says he is more than ready to move up from Junior Orchestra to Youth Symphony. Last year, he loved Junior Orchestra because it was so much more advanced than his school band. Nine months of clarinet lessons, though, and he's way beyond it now. Looking forward to Youth Symphony auditions in June...
