Technology, bah

So we bought a new router, to make the internet easier to use at J’s house, which is maybe a hundred feet from where the router sits. This one has a 2.4-GHz bandwidth thing* and a 5-GHz bandwidth thing available at the same time, and the lesser one also has a better range. The process of setting it up was exhausting, even though I barely had to do anything since J. was doing it, but there were issues with the firmware upgrade freezing up, and then it turns out that only D’s brand-new computer, out of the five computers currently turned on in the house, can even use the 5-GHz thing (along with J’s phone and possibly D’s). So we hope the 2.4-GHz thing is what we need, since we also had to change the WEP/WPA thing and all that, and it would be a huge hassle to switch back to the old router, I bet.

But I’m sick and D’s sleep-deprived, and we both have less patience than J. does even in the best of circumstances. I just want things to be very, very quiet now.
