I have to say...

...that I wish there were more of a gap between pollen season and wildfire season. At least the moon is a pretty shade of gold from the haze.

Back and forth and back and…

Today, D. was scheduled to test our new e-cigarette pilot study to make sure it all goes smoothly. CW and I scheduled it for 3 p.m., and D. and I were there at 2:50 p.m. Was CW? No… I e-mailed him, I called him, we waited 20 minutes, I e-mailed him again, we left… and five minutes later he appeared. I still can’t fathom why he didn’t pick up the phone at some point in his delay to let me know. Eventually we rescheduled it for 5:45 p.m., and this time it worked.

Not too long after that, I was in the neighborhood Safeway, waiting to pay for my stuff, but some guy felt entitled to get “creative” with the definition of “15 items or fewer,” or else he was just oblivious, but he bought four bags’ worth of stuff while chatting with the clerk about motorcycles. Maybe if he hadn’t wanted to talk to the guy about their common interest in motorcycles, he’d have taken his stuff to one of the other two lanes that were open.

Anyhow, today did have “tiresome elements,” and I also have an impressive slash on my ankle from a blackberry vine, but c’est la vie. Everything is basically okay.

P.S. Just got a “revise and resubmit” on a manuscript, so that’ll be something to do. (*ahem*)
