Proposal grumbling again
Jun. 10th, 2014 10:57 pmAt least a week from now we’ll be free of this thing. And it’s not like I have to spend all of my time on it any more; there are just bits and pieces. But it just won’t go away. We won’t get to submit it early because there are people who have to do key pieces of it who have other priorities.
Today I got a e-mail from a colleague thanking me for helping her with the one she submitted on the 5th. She wrote, “Still feeling the effects of not having a huge deadline hanging over my head. It is like floating in space or something, and trying to figure out who I am.”
Right now, that sounds blissful. I want to work on All the Other Things. Of course, if I didn’t have the antibiotic blahs plus a migraine plus hay fever, maybe I could be doing that right now too. But, Tuesday! One week from today! It is finite.
