Officially, spring break ends today, but I’m giving myself one more day towards my goals before I resume regular work.
I’m still working on this backlog of manuscripts. Today I turned to my “item response theory” paper. I’m thinking of radically changing the storyline. It had originally been, “Here’s this nifty tool (item response theory) that can be used in this creative way, and as evidence, see this cool new finding we got from using it.” Now it’s more modest, “Here’s this cool new finding, and here’s how we got it.”
I forgot to say that yesterday J. invested a bunch of time in teaching D. about Pascal’s triangle, which included a bunch of algebra plus applications in Magic. Also, today D. got a haircut! It’s many inches shorter, although not what anyone would call “short.” It’s modelled after his 5th grade school picture. He’ll get a lot of attention in school tomorrow.
