Phone + snow = ???
Feb. 10th, 2013 08:40 pmD. had a fun day today – a trip with a friend up the McKenzie river to snow and hot springs – but there are two consequences that we hope will be very short-term. (1) He dropped his phone in the snow and now the mic and volume control don’t work, and (2) although he was back by 4:30 he has so much language arts homework that it’s going to be a challenge to be able to get him to bed and then watch both of the final episodes of Samurai 7 before J. has to leave.
(Obviously I can watch Samurai 7 later in the week, although I was looking forward to it for today, but I do not want to have to replace the phone...)
Update: Yay, we did watch Samurai 7. Didn’t watch Downton yet, though, as I didn’t want to dilute the Samurai 7 experience. (A bit surprising how things worked out. Also, I liked noticing – although maybe it was just me? – that the best art in the series was saved for the rice fields, like the heat haze in one of the early episodes, and the reflecting water during planting season in the last one.)
