Election Day 2012
Nov. 6th, 2012 10:31 pmAfternoon: Pretty good progress towards packing up my office. I finally got out the five boxes of data I’d “cleverly” put behind my file cabinets when we moved in, and Z. shredded them for me. Tomorrow I should pack up and take away most of my other boxes, to sit here and sort through at home. (I wish I had one to work on right now while we wait for Obama’s speech!)
Late afternoon: Helped D. make a chocolate cream pie for his dad’s birthday; also bought a gift with him, wrapped for him, and took him to Safeway to buy cards. Kind of a whirlwind.
Evening: Turned on the TV at 8 p.m. (the point at which the networks are “allowed” to predict an outcome) and waited. Whew, it took only 11 more minutes for CNN to call the election. Now it’s more than two hours later, and D. is waiting up to hear the president.
