The first half of the day, I was scatterbrained, and aggravating things happened. These two facts are not independent. Then things became nicer. I had a meeting with Z, then a walk with J. over to the lab meeting for G’s group; after that I got to chat a bit with S., then watched an interesting travel show about Rome, then dinner + Castle with J, then a nice walk with two of the moms (T. and the Korean one), then Looney Tunes, and now we’re listening to a clarinet serenade aka practice. Then I’ll finish reading a Wrede book to D, then I’ll hang out with J. and maybe watch Young Justice. Relaxing!
I learned this about myself from watching the travel show about Rome: I am more interested in classical ruins, especially those in natural settings, than in Renaissance art or Christian historical sites. I also liked seeing the Transtiberina neighborhood, though I can’t remember what it’s called in modern Italian. (Google suggests “Transiberiana” instead. Wrong. Let’s try a map of Rome? Okay: “Trastevere.”)
