Adventure Time
Dec. 13th, 2010 10:15 pmD. did a class presentation today on one of his favorite TV shows, Adventure Time, a rather surreal animated kids show on Cartoon Network. Many of his classmates love the show (especially girls who are fans of the minor character Lumpy Space Princess, it seems), one girl hates it, and quite a few of the kids were puzzled by its whimsical randomness. It really is a bizarre kind of show, and it's interesting to see which kids embrace that and which kids strongly prefer the conventional.
Their class presentations use Keynote, which appears to be a lot like a graphically jazzed up PowerPoint. They advance through the components of the pages by patting the big screen. Other talk topics today were Princess Diana (who died before the presenter was even born!), the Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon, and penguins.
