In which we celebrate our "inner Asians"
Feb. 21st, 2010 10:16 pmThis year we were only at the Asian Celebration for maybe an hour and a half, but it was worthwhile. The Chinese lions (two-person costumes that do elaborate dances in their stage performances) were wandering around throughout the venue and interacting with the little kids, which was really cute. We listened to two koto pieces by Mitsuki Dazai, but skipped the puppet theatre show and the Taiko drumming. We arrived late enough in the food court that we didn't have to just move with the crowds but could actually go right up to the counters and order. The Kumoricon room had several big screens with video games; D. would have liked to play, but the teens who'd already claimed the seats didn't look inclined to move. Other than lunch, I managed not to spend more than $3, which was for this magnet.
