I like to read people's essays on the paths they took towards realizing their dream careers, especially for writers (but also sometimes for scientists who have a sense of humor). I've come across two of these online in the past 24 hours, so I thought I'd share:
Laurie R. King - author of the Mary Russell novels (detective series set in the 1920s, with Sherlock Holmes as a major supporting character)
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni - author of novels about immigrant Indian women and also a children's fantasy set in India, which I am now reading during meals and at bedtime, The Conch Bearer
